ATLAS Shipyard was established in May 2005 with its former name, TVK Shipyard. At the time of TVK Shipyard, a number of sophisticated and high quality commercial type Chemical Tankers were built and delivered to leading operators in Europe.

A new milestone has been reached by end of 2024 and 100 percent shares of ATLAS Shipyard were transferred to DESAN, owned by KAPTANOGLU GROUP, as the sole shareholder of the Yard. With this merger, DESAN KAPTANOGLU aim to raise the ATLAS flag even higher with the synergy of DESAN KAPTANOGLU, which has over 100 years of maritime experience. DESAN strongly believe that this merger, in addition to supporting DESAN’s export and growth plans, will also make a significant contribution to the Turkish shipbuilding industry.
